Every year, crowds of cosplayers flood the halls of San Diego Comic-Con in over-the-top DIY fashion. For Her Universe founder Ashley Eckstein, the demand for geek fashion sparked the novel idea for a couture "geek" fashion show. Twenty-five amateur and veteran designers gathered Thursday evening to compete for a chance to design a fashion line in partnership with Her Universe and Hot Topic.
