It appears Glee star Chris Colfer was the victim of a Twitter hacking.
Colfer's verified account stated Thursday morning that the actor was being let go from the show for "personal reasons." But Fox said in a statement issued minutes later Thursday that the star is not leaving Glee -- his account was simply hacked.
"Rumors of his dismissal from Glee could not be further from the truth," said the studio's tweet. "We love Chris and look forward to working with him again this season."

A rep for Colfer confirms to Mashable that the actor did not send the Tweet.
THR reports the actor is on a mid-Atlantic flight without WiFi access and not immediately available to update his Twitter account.

Glee's sixth and final season is expected to bow sometime in midseason. Now-former network president Kevin Reilly said at the time that the show was left off the fall schedule to give producers time to craft a proper ending.
