Groomsman Lee Coleman got a little too enthusiastic during a pre-ceremony photoshoot for his best friend's wedding on Sept. 12.

In the middle of an epic midair jumping pose, Lee ripped his pants a new one — literally. The seam in the back of his pants split open from stem to stern.

Lee's wife, Alex, tells Mashable that Lee's bold pose was apparently inspired by Rafiki from the Lion King .

Fortunately, the wedding photographer, Alexa Bedwell, managed to capture the entire ripped pants saga.

Although the photos were hilarious, that didn't change the fact that Lee was going to have to participate in the wedding ceremony with his tarnished pants unless a solution was found.

Luckily, Alex was also in the wedding party and came to the rescue with a handy sewing kit.

After some careful cross-stitching and a bit of duct tape ...

"The pants survived through the end of the reception!" Alex told Mashable in an email.

"These days the pants remain halved in our laundry room. The rest of the wedding was wonderful, an otherwise rainy day cleared up just in time for the ceremony, we were lucky to be a part of it!"

Here's hoping Lee wears some stretch pants the next time he decides to get acrobatic.
