On ho-hum days when only a smiling face can cheer you up, look no further than your breakfast bowl or toothbrush holder. Happy little faces are lurking everywhere.
This phenomenon of spotting what look like faces in everyday objects is known as pareidolia. Think Jesus toast or the man on the moon.
Face-spotters share images of their inanimate friends online in places like Reddit's /r/Pareidolia/ and Flickr. Although, beware, not every face is friendly -- there are scared faces, sad faces and the occasional stoned faces.
Prepare for an instant smile boost.
