ImThere, which launches officially today, is a social network with a focus on events and mobile presence. Since our initial coverage of the service it has changed a lot design-wise, but the functionality is similar - you can add events, manage them on your personal calendar, get notifications of stuff happening to your mobile, and share this info with your friends.
Events are shown in an almost blog-like presentation on the main page of ImThere, and if you plan to participate you just click on the "ImThere" button, which signifies that, well, you'll be there. The standard social networking features - gallery, friends, on-site e-mail - are all present, too.
ImThere's direct competition lies somewhere between Plazes and HeyLetsGo. ImThere's differentiating factor, however, is its focus on mobile - a market that will blossom this year.
