They've finally done it. Iran has stolen our most valuable national resource: Friends.

Earlier today, Twitter user @dpatrikarakos posted pictures from an Iranian network's knock-off of the iconic series, including Monica's kitchen with a distractingly orange refrigerator, the living room sans couches and a pretty accurate balcony.

Can this version of Friends recapture the sexual tension and biting humor of the original? We'll be there (for you) to find out.

Fellow Twitter users had some pretty great ideas for stunt casting:

@avis_liberum @michaeldweiss Thinking on it..Ahmadinejad would make quite a good Janice. That same inane grin and ability to make bad noise— David Patrikarakos (@dpatrikarakos) February 11, 2015

And episode titles:

@michaeldweiss @dpatrikarakos @avis_liberum "The one where Rachel takes her scarf off and Ross calls the Mutaween".— oliver bennett (@olibennett) February 11, 2015

And this video from the Iranian news site Mardom Report shows the (untranslated) opening credits in all their exuberant hand-waving glory.

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));Post by MardomReport.net.
