In our latest Ask a Dev video, web developer Chase Moody points out the differences between Node.js and client-side JavaScript.

The lack of browser APIs, a heightened focus on input and output interactions and an end of context switching are just a few reasons, he says, why developers should be excited about Node.js.

Moody also explains how the ability to interact with the file system leads to the ability to read, write and perform other actions on the server. Spoiler alert: This will have favorable implications for the Internet of Things.
