With the Netflix release of Marvel's Jessica Jones just days away, the series' final trailer offers a rich payoff after months of scant teasers.

Gone is the time for exposition about Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), a woman with superhuman abilities and no apparent compulsion to use them for the greater good. The final trailer focuses more than ever on Jones's unrelenting PTSD, which haunts every frame as she uses violence, work, and alcohol to keep going.

This one also gives us a closer look at Kilgrave (David Tennant), whispering sinisterly in a singsong voice and clad in a Joker-purple suit as he controls people's minds.

Even intentionally funny lines, which could easily seem forced -- like Jones saying "pilates" after kicking a man across a room -- are so dry that you can feel how jaded the character is.

"You are a hot-headed, short-fused mess of a woman," Luke Cage (Mike Colter) tells her, and the intensity of the trailer makes that seem more troublesome than aspirational. Jessica Jones just wants to live anonymously -- but soon, the world will know her name.

The first season of Marvel's Jessica Jones comes to Netflix on Nov. 20.
