Teary-eyed Speaker of the House John Boehner came prepared with a box of tissue when making his final speech in front of the House on Thursday. Surprisingly, though, he didn't need it.

Known for wearing his heart on his sleeve, Boehner stepped up to the podium ahead of the election of his successor Paul Ryan. His colleagues rose to their feet with a standing ovation as Boehner held the tissues in the air, telling the crowd that he's leaving Congress "with no regrets and no burden."

Boehner reminisced about his long career in politics, holding off tears for the majority of the event.

However, as he wrapped up his speech and shook hands with colleagues and again Ryan was officially elected speaker, Boehner's famous crying face was out in full force.

Boehner's lips trembled and tears were flowing freely as the pair shook hands and he departed from the podium for one final time. He stepped off the dias and embraced several of his House colleagues to loud applause from the room.

In light of his last day as Speaker of the House, it would only seem appropriate to remember the occasions in which he didn't quite keep the tears at bay. We'll miss that famous cry face.
