The ballad of John Lennon and Yoko Ono is one made up of profound love, timeless music and questionable album artwork.

Now, with a little help from your friends at PBS, a rare interview with the couple discussing their infamously intimate relationship has been released and re-imagined in an animated interpretation for the Blank on Blank series.

The series aims to "curate and transform journalists' unheard interviews with American icons." Other icons featured so far have included Jerry Garcia, Grace Kelly and Maurice Sedak.

Audio of Lennon and Ono is taken from a conversation with journalist Howard Smith in 1969. While the rockstar and artist elaborate on their unique marriage and perspective on life, the animation flows through with fanciful visuals for each turn of phrase and metaphor.

Take a break from watching the wheels go round and round and hit play.
