Dame Julie Andrews turns 80 today. The actress has been in show business for more than 65 years, appearing in over 40 films -- but she's still treasured mostly for her starring roles in classic works like Mary Poppins (1964) and The Sound of Music (1965).

Andrews has also breathed brilliance into films like Thoroughly Modern Millie (1967) and Victor Victoria (1982), and made the world want to adopt her as a grandmother in 2001’s The Princess Diaries. Not to mention her storied stage runs in musicals like My Fair Lady, her role as Rodgers and Hammerstein's original Cinderella, and her second (third?) career as an author of children's books.

To celebrate the woman who is practically perfect in every way -- and to cope with the fact that she isn’t actually our best friend/grandmother/magical nanny -- we came up with a list of what we imagine are Dame Julie’s 8 favorite things.

All the best, Julie. 80 never looked so good.
