When it comes to expectation versus reality, just don't get your hopes up -- especially when it comes to fast food.

KFC recently launched a new product in the UK and Ireland called a Ricebox for hungry people on the go. The new item comes in three flavors -- original recipe, pulled chicken and zinger -- but the actual product might leave customers a little disappointed.

A Reddit user in the UK showed the Internet what the Ricebox looks like in real life, and it's clearly not as pretty in the advertisements.

Some noticeable differences: the vibrant, appetizing colors are pretty much replaced by a gray goop, and while there is certainly some rice in there, the green lettuce in the ad looks to be all but missing.

According to the user's post, the Ricebox seems to be outstandingly expensive as well, especially for fast food.

A few people on social media have also been posting about their disappointments.

Anyone who's unwrapped a sad, flattened Whopper can relate.

The KFC ricebox looks nothing like the one they show you on the advert btw.— Tommy (@Tommy_1972) September 25, 2015
