A stray dog kicked by a police officer during a protest in Turkey did not stand down.
Police and protesters clashed in Istanbul on Friday during May Day demonstrations. Protesters reportedly threw stones, while police hurled tear gas, as thousands took to the streets to demonstrate despite a government ban.

Nearly 140 people were reportedly detained as a result, but at least one person received a helping paw from a local dog near Taksim Square.
The video, above, shows a stray dog near an activist who is being arrested; the man is lying on the ground, his hands tied behind his back. An officer kicks the dog away, but moments later, it can be seen chasing after a police car leaving the scene.
According to Turkey-based Hurriyet Daily News, the dog -- referred to as "Garip" which means "poor" or "strange" in Turkish -- appears to be the same one that gained widespread attention during the 2013 demonstrations in Gezi Park when protesters cleaned its eyes after it was subjected to tear gas.
