In devastating news for anyone who still owns and wears terrycloth Juicy Couture sweatpants, Kitson is shutting down all of its stores.
The boutique chain founded in Los Angeles in 2000 is closing its stores in California, Nevada and Oregon. It has already pulled the plug on its online shop.

The chain was home to some defining, paparazzi moments in pop culture history: When Britney Spears had Kitson open their store for her at 2 a.m. for a shopping spree, and when Lindsay Lohan got into a car accident after shopping in the store.
It goes without saying that Kitson was a launching ground for some of the great collections of our time: Kevin Federline's Five Star Vintage, the Paris Hilton clothing line, and Hilton's on-again-off-again best friend, Nicole Richie's jewelry line.
In addition to being a backdrop for paparazzi shots, it also proved to be a good enough publicity venue for the likes of the Twilight stars.

However, James Wong, Kitson's chief restructuring officer, told the Times that Kitson was talking to "interested parties" to preserve the brand. Good news for anyone who still wants a Team Aniston/Team Jolie t-shirt, popularized by Paris and Nicky Hilton -- the quintessential figures of mid-2000's fashion.
