Among its features are support for HTML5 and CSS3; the new IDE also offers more support for Python 3, including syntax checking, debugging, auto-complete, calltips, code browsing and more. Extended language support for Perl 5.12 and Tcl 8.6 was also added in this version.
The IDE's auto-complete features now cover HTML5, CSS3, newer versions of jQuery, YUI and Dojo, and Perl 5.10 and 5.12. And Komodo 6 offers greater database support, too, with SQLite support out-of-the-box and extensions for MySQL.
The makers of this IDE also say it's much faster than preceding versions, from startup to switching tabs. They credit Mozilla's Firefox 3.5 source for these improvements.
Other changes include multi-language regex support, a new Invoke Tool panel for fast searching and invocation of tools from the keyboard, and improved hyperlinks.
Developers can snag the IDE for $245 between now and November 15, at which point the price will go up to $295. If you'd like to test drive the software, a 21-day trial version is available.
