Last.fm compiled its lists by tracking users' listening practices through the service's scrobbling tools, and the pop star -- who hit radio waves and online streams in 2009 with her single "TiK ToK" (which spawned a ton of online parodies; remember the Israeli soldiers?) -- has come out on top. Ke$ha scored around 5 million scrobbles nationally and approximately 15 million worldwide.
The list also includes Mumford & Sons, Eminem, the iPad-loving Gorillaz, HTML5 stars Arcade Fire, uber tweeter Katy Perry and The National, who turned an album leak into an opportunity to showcase their disc on The New York Times's website.
