Lauren Hill captured the nation's hearts when she defied terminal brain cancer to play in her college basketball team's opening game. Now she's taking over kitchen tables with her own Wheaties box.

Hill was just starting her freshman year as a Division III student athlete when her doctors found she had an inoperable brain tumor. She isn't expected to make it to Christmas, but she was determined to fulfill her lifetime dream of playing college basketball.

Mount St. Joseph moved a game with Hiram College up to Sunday to improve her chances of playing, and 10,000 supporters turned out to cheer her on. The crowd went wild when she scored a layup just 17 seconds into the game.

Since her diagnosis, Hill has raised money for The Cure Starts Now with #Layup4Lauren.

"I'm not fighting for myself. I'm going to start fighting for little kids," she told CNN.
