It's official: There's a modern, gritty take on Little Women in development at The CW, according to Deadline.

While we're all wondering why someone would ever do this to such a classic, there's only one question that truly matters: Who will play Jo March, the baddest boss lady in all of literature?

After all, Jo March has been slaying the game since the 1860s. This is the woman who helped her impoverished parents by rocking a pixie cut long before millennials started doing it. This is the woman who casually got a book deal and used the money to send her stressed mother and sick sister on a vacation. This is the woman who refused to do anything other than achieve, declaring, "I want to do something splendid before I go into my castle, --something heroic, or wonderful, --that won't be forgotten after I'm dead."

Not everybody can fill Jo's groundbreaking, trailblazing, paradigm-busting shoes. Here are just a few of the people we'd like to see play Jo March, Little Women's protofeminist boss queen.

Okay. Maybe these aren't the most "traditional" fit -- but Jo isn't a traditional lady. Fair warning, Hollywood: Whoever you cast had better be as amazing as our OG Jo.
