A police bomb squad blew up a suitcase at Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday, after smoke was seen coming from the bag.
The controlled explosion took place outside Gate 22A, located in Terminal 2 at LAX. Clothes were strewn about the suitcase after the explosion.
ABC7 in Los Angeles reported on the smoke, whose cause has not yet been determined.

Controlled detonations are a relatively common tactic for police when a package or bag presents potential danger.
Airlines that operate at LAX's Terminal 2 include Aeromexico, Air Canada, Air China, Air France, Air New Zealand, Alitalia, Hawaiian Airlines, KLM, Virgin Atlantic, Volaris and WestJet.
One traveler tweeted about the terminal being evacuated, as the bag was investigated.

Passengers flying through LAX Thursday should check with their airline for the most recent information about possible delays.

Police did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
