Sometimes, we just don't know our own strength.
Former Army Staff Sgt. Ryan M. Pitts knows this all too well. His week started off on a high -- President Obama presented him with the Medal of Honor on Monday for his outstanding service during a battle in Afghanistan, and then he was invited to ring the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange on Wednesday.
Pitts was visibly excited as he began to bash the ceremonial gavel. His first whack was strong, his second was even harder, but his third strike was delivered with such force that it broke the gavel handle right in half.
His reaction, as well as everyone's around him, is perfection.
It's cool, Pitts -- they probably have a backup.
