Jesse Draper is creator and host of The Valley Girl Show, through which she's become a spokesperson for startups and helped pioneer the way of new media content distribution. Formerly a Nickelodeon star, Draper is now CEO of Valley Girl‚ where she oversees the show and runs technology blog Lalawag.com.

Business is inevitably risky. How do large companies manage their financial, operating and even sometimes reputational risk? Shellye Archambeau, CEO of Metricstream and author of Marketing the Works takes her seat on today's episode to explain.

Companies are often heads-down with their sights on things like product, sales, international expansion or other pressing responsibilities. Unforeseen circumstances could throw companies for a loop. This is when a risk management firm comes in.

But using a company like Metricstream to predict risk may be a better option. In fact, Twitter recently selected Metricstream's GRP platform to help with its own financial compliance. "Risk is a 'big data' problem," Archambeau says.

And we couldn't let Archambeau leave the Valley Girl stage without giving her advice for women in business. Ironically, she says to "take risks."
