It's in the spirit of celebrating this marvelous age that we bring you this collection of mobile music performances. All of the music here is being generated by a cell phone -- think about that for a minute!
While most (but not all) of these performances are on the Apple iPhone, we hope to see some Android orchestras sprouting up before too long. We tried to get a mix of instrumentation in here, as well as serve up a mix of great covers and creative originals as well.

Impressive fast fingerwork rendition of this Coldplay classic using the iAno iPhone app.

5. Oh Shenandoah
One of the winners of Smule's This Contest Blows... Contest! using the Ocarina app.
4. Led Zeppelin: Stairway to Heaven
What's a music list without a little Stairway? Nice demonstration of the Guitar app.
3. Jordan Rudess Plays Wivi Band
The keyboard player for the progressive rock band Dream Theater plays Wivi Band. It's a full demo video so it's not all of him playing, but worth watching for the beginning and especially the end performances. He's done several other worthwhile iPhone app demos; you can check out some of his other videos.
2. The Mentalists Perform MGMT's Kids
Nice ensemble cover performance featuring only vocals and iPhone / iPod touch instrumentation.
1. iBand: Life is Greater Than the Internet
This three-piece group came together to form "an iPhone band." They play mostly original tunes with the occasional other instrument or device thrown in. Here's a track with a theme we can hopefully all relate to.
