Music search engines are getting more simple, as are mixtape creation tools. We went from an overabundance of music social sites to an avalanche of simplified music search engines all aimed at offering instant gratification for our music needs. Online mixtapes kind of do the same thing, in their efforts of providing a service that lets us customize our playlists and share them across our favorite social networks, or even gift them to friends. Most have purchasing options alongside their sharing capabilities, but like I said--mixtape creation tools are getting more and more simplified as well.
The latest, and most minimalistic I've seen, is muxtape. You very simply upload the songs you want on your mixtape (mp3s no bigger than 10MB). That's it. Your playlist (which plays in the opposite order in which you upload your songs) is available at your muxtape account page. Are there legal issues involved in this type of a service? Kinda. In using muxtape's service, you're acknowledging that muxtape has permission to use the songs you upload. And, you can only create one muxtape.
