Germany's biggest television broadcaster, ProSiebenSat1 Media, has bought a 70% stake in German video-sharing network MyVideo.de for $26 million.

The broadcasting network already owned 30% of MyVideo.de, so this last investment was more of a completion for a buyout than anything else. The German YouTube clone launched last year, and has gained significant traction even before the initial investment from ProSiebenSat1 Media. With its being part of the group of start ups backed by the Samwer brothers, it's no surprise that the site has been acquired. The Germany-based clone sites, including Facebook's clone StudiVZ, have met market demand far before the original companies have implemented an all-out global strategy, and these sites have a good chance of being acquired.
