Yaaaaaas, Neil. Yaaaaaas.

We're not surprised Neil Patrick Harris absolutely slayed the opening monologue for the 87th annual Academy Awards. He kicked off with a race joke -- thanks for getting that out of the way, Neil -- before launching into a funny and at times earnest song and dance that we knew was coming, but loved regardless.

It was chock-full of jokes and jabs at current stars, films of the past and even the Academy, as well as cameos by Jack Black and Anna Kendrick, dressed as Cinderella (whom she played in Into the Woods).

If the next three-plus hours were like the first five minutes, we might just stick around -- and Neil may just snag that EGOT for hosting.
