How to Keep Up With New Programming Languages

In our latest Ask a Dev video, web developer Robert Williams shares his tips on keeping up with programming languages when it seems like new ones come out almost every day.

Even with all these new languages, a solid basis for web programming is still JavaScript. It's been around for two decades, but it's the primary language of the Internet, and it's not going anywhere.

A good way to keep up with everything else, though, is to attend talks and meetups, read up on sites like Stack Overflow and make use of the great online open source community. Overall, Williams advises developers to not worry too much about what language they start with: "The important part is to get started and keep learning."
