NEW YORK -- If these lingering cold temperatures are getting you down, some springtime activities are in order. This spring there are events all around the city for New Yorkers and visitors alike to enjoy.
These performances, amusement park rides, festivals, flower shows and -- weather permitting -- outdoor activities will make you forget all about that terrible winter.
For the past 41 years, Macy's has ushered in spring with an elaborate flower display inside its flagship store. And it isn't just in New York City -- there are also Macy's flower displays in Philadelphia, Chicago, Minneapolis and San Francisco. This year in the Big Apple the show is a springtime celebration of imagination and creativity. Hurry there to see it before it ends.

If you missed the Radio City Christmas Spectacular during the winter, you can catch the Rockettes, Laura Benanti and Derek Hough this spring at Radio City Music Hall. There will be 64 performances through May.

The first public ride of the season on Coney Island's iconic roller coaster, the Cyclone, got off to a bumpy start on Sunday. But don't be alarmed: No one got hurt when the ride got stuck before the first drop.
Luna Park, the theme park at Coney Island, is open on weekends until Memorial Day, then all week long during the summer until Labor Day. The park has more than 50 rides, and the Coney Island boardwalk is a must-visit at least once a year.

Brooklyn Botanical Gardens' Cherry Blossom Viewing
April ushers in the springtime ritual viewing of the cherry blossoms at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. There will be guided tours on Wednesdays during the viewing season as well as cultural events and performances.

New York International Auto Show
The New York Auto Show always features the latest models and concept cars. The show has group tours, car simulations, games for kids and panel discussions.

The annual spring festival, now in its 13th year, will have movies showing in 10 different cinemas in Lower Manhattan. There will also be talks and panels with filmmakers.

The unique Bacon and Beer event will be making a stop in NYC this spring. Attendees will get to enjoy samples of craft brew, bacon-inspired treats made by local restaurants, interactive games and live music.

Known as the biggest charitable bike ride in the world since its inception in 1977, the TD Five Boro Bike Tour welcomes thousands of cyclists from across the nation to ride across, around, and through New York City.
Bike New York also offers free bicycle classes for both kids and adults throughout the year.
