The Lincoln Park Zoo's new red panda cubs, Clark and Addison, have gone in for their second checkup.
The two cubs, who were born on June 26, are the first red pandas -- a vulnerable species -- born at the Chicago zoo. Since their first checkup on July 10, Clark has doubled and Addison has nearly tripled in weight.
Since their birth, the cubs have also celebrated a number of other adorable milestones -- including opening their eyes. In addition, the cubs' yellow fur has begun to transform into the deep auburn characteristic of the adult red panda.
The zoo's Curator of Mammals Mark Kamhout said that the two cubs are likely to go on public display within a few weeks. "The cubs are often seen trying to explore outside of the den before quickly being scooped up by their mother Leafa," he said.
