War correspondents aren't the only ones who put themselves in the line of fire to bring news to people, as Fox NFL sideline reporter Pam Oliver learned the hard way on Sunday night.
Oliver was in her usual post next to the field before Fox's broadcast of the Colts-Giants pre-season game when an errant practice throw by Chandler Harnish sailed off course and nailed her -- right in the kisser. As shown in the video above, it was a direct hit, not some glancing blow.

The clip became a predictable source of yuks for sports fans online, but it just proved that Oliver is among the NFL media game's biggest pros. She bounced back from the hit to smile for the camera and deliver her usual field-level tidbits and insights for the fans at home.
Hey, things could have been worse -- just ask the reporter who was inadvertently doused in Gatorade in April.
