A moment of silence echoed across the globe on Monday to pay tribute to the victims of the attacks in Paris on Friday.

The moment of silence took place at noon in Paris and many around the world joined in, from China to Germany to the G20 Summit in Turkey.

In France, people gathered at the sites of the attacks in Paris. President François Hollande stood with students at Paris-Sorbonne University; following the moment of silence, those gathered sang the national anthem.
