The first chapter of the novel, which follows the trials and tribulations of a writer named Sham Al-Warraq, is already available digitally at pckwck.com. Cohen will begin writing again live at 1 p.m. EST, and continue for five hours. Site visitors can already "like" their favorite passages by clicking anywhere on the text, and the comments are live -- as is an ongoing count of readers on the left sidebar.

Cohen is the author of several novels, as well as short fiction and other collected works.
