You may have heard of Pinger before. They've been talked about here and there all over the blogosphere for what they've been working on. We've had hints of what's to come, like Democratic Presidential hopeful John Edwards and his Pingercasts. Today, they unveiled and released out of private alpha the public pinger product. I describe the service as an international and free virtual PBX with Twitter-like tendencies, but that probably muddles the issue a bit more than it clears up.

What I do know is that Ringo Starr and John Edwards are both users, and it's a Web 2.0 startup with all its vowels. That alone should be reason enough for you to give it a listen as I sit down with founder Greg Woock, and get his clearer explanation of how this company and new product works.
