Plusmo, the free mobile widget service, has been optimized for the iPhone. There are now 20,000 Plusmo widgets available with a custom interface for Apple's phone.
The mobile widget company offers a start page of sorts, similar to Pageflakes, for your cell phone. While you can choose from existing widget options in Plusmo, most of the available widgets are created by users. When you make your own Plusmo widget, you can enter in keywords and select from a list of services, such as Google and Yahoo Images, for which you'd like to receive the related content.
This is good for content creators, providers and distributors, such as blog writers, who would like to offer a simple mobile offering as a way to have a broader distribution network. You can both view and create widgets with Plusmo's iPhone-optimized site. Content comes through Plusmo widgets nicely on the iPhone, and couples well with iPhone's media-viewing tools.
