Indian fans watched with pride as Bollywood actress and Quantico star Priyanka Chopra made her maiden Oscars appearance and went on the stage to present the Academy Award for Best Film Editing.
Chopra, who's making her Hollywood debut in the forthcoming Baywatch film, presented the award along with actor Liev Schreiber to Max Max: Fury Road editor Margaret Sixel.
Yet, there were also several moments off the stage when Chopra wowed fans with her confidence. Here are five of them.
When she walked down the red carpet in a stunning white dress
Chopra's strapless embellished dress by Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad won her a lot of compliments. She paired it with 50 carat diamond earrings.

When she spoke about diversity in Hollywood
"I just think that art shouldn't be defined by the colour of your skin. The best person for the job should get the job and not because you look a certain way. That's just a very primitive thought for me," Chopra told a presenter at the red carpet. "I'm really happy (because) when I was cast in Quantico, it was because I was the best person for the job and not because of what I looked like or where I come from. I think that's the way to go. Storytelling should be global."
When she kept red carpet interviews honest and real
In a red carpet interview with Ryan Seacrest, Chopra confessed that while felt "princessy" in her dress, she "didn't want to screw up someone's name" at her maiden appearance at the Oscars.
