How do you know if a gamer is truly hardcore? Just look at the kind of controller in their hands.

The Razer Wildcat is the latest pro-grade controller for the Xbox One, designed to give gamers an edge in the heat of competition. It's 25% lighter than other controllers designed for competitive play, such as esports.

The $149.99 controller, which will be available in October, is loaded with features only esports athletes and serious gamers would ever really care for.

Clad in the company's signature green and black aesthetic, the Wildcat features two removable hyperesponse multi-function triggers made from aircraft-grade aluminum, two multi-function bumpers, two high carbon steel-reinforced analog sticks, ABXY buttons and a four-button quick control panel. All the buttons are designed to be hyper-responsive, for quick actions during a heated game. There's also a standard 3.5mm headphone jack.

The controller also comes with optional palm grips, analog stick grip caps, and trigger stops for rapid fire.

Like all of Razer's past controllers, the cable on the Wildcat is 10-foot long and braided to prevent breakage.

With gaming bigger than ever, performance game controllers are all the rage. Microsoft's even getting in the action later this year with the Xbox One Elite controller, a gamepad with modular pieces that snap on with magnets.

The only kicker is these controllers are expensive. $150 is a ton of money to ask for a controller. But perhaps they're worth it for the competitive edge.
