Did you spurn the iPhone 6 Plus for the iPhone 6? You're not alone, according to a report.

Looking at ad impressions generated by the two devices over the weekend, Chitika found that the adoption rate for the iPhone 6 Plus is 0.2%, compared with 1.5% for the iPhone 6.

So far, adoption for the iPhone 6 is lower than what the iPhone 5 achieved in its first weekend of release, Chitika reports. It took Samsung's Galaxy S5 a week to achieve a 1.5% share of smartphone web traffic.

The researcher notes that consumers' preference for the iPhone 6 over the iPhone 6 Plus isn't much of a surprise; the latter's larger screen size makes it more of a niche product. The 6 Plus has also been selling out in some stores, according to reports, and has a shipping time of three to four weeks compared to seven to 10 days for the iPhone 6, indicating that Apple isn't keeping up with consumer demand.

Chitika wasn't the only researcher to identify a disparity between adoption of the two devices. Mixpanel is reporting a similar breakdown:

Apple announced on Monday that it sold more than 10 million iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus devices over the opening weekend, setting a new record, though it did not break down sales for each model.
