Quick Pitch: SaveFans! is an offer-based ticket platform that allows users to negotiate the price paid for live event tickets.
Genius Idea: SaveFans! brings some sanity back to buying tickets. Sellers can list tickets for free and buyers can negotiate prices for tickets for sporting events, concerts and theater shows.
I think that most concert-goers or sports fans would agree that the live event industry is catered towards the promoters/ticket agencies (soon to be ruled by one company) and not the fans themselves.
SaveFans! wants to change that. The site, currently in public beta, allows individuals to negotiate ticket prices and sellers to offer different seats at different rates and to negotiate with potential buyers.
You can find listings for concerts, theater or performing arts shows and sporting events. If you find a show you're interested in, you can see what options are available and how much the seller is asking. If you want to make a different offer, you can do that and the seller can accept, reject or give back a counteroffer.
SaveFans! charges a $5 connection fee, regardless of how many tickets you buy -- and sellers don't have to pay to list tickets, just once they are sold.
Frankly, it's a nice idea. Ticketing can act more as a free market rather than a controlled monopoly.
