The penultimate episode of CBS's Scorpion left its leading man in -- quite literally -- a cliffhanger situation.
Main character Walter (Elyes Gabel) was in his car, teetering on the ledge of a cliff, 300-feet above the ground.
"Walter's life is in serious danger; he's in a very perilous situation the entire time," previews Ari Stidham, who plays Sylvester Dodd. "It's a nail-biter."
In its first season, Scorpion has joined a growing group of tech-centered TV shows that have hit the small screen in recent years. That club currently includes HBO comedy Silicon Valley, AMC period drama Halt & Catch Fire, and network-mate CSI: Cyber.
For its part, Scorpion has held steady both in terms of ratings (it's the No. 4 new show on TV in terms of total viewers) and, as Stidham sees it, its ability to exist happily as an "action-comedy show with heart."
And the finale, airing Monday night, will serve all aspects of its identity, he says.
"It's going to be a really good episode and a really good finale," he says.
