Well, there goes all those Sunday afternoons gaming in your birthday suit. Skype just announced that you can download its video and voice calling app for free on the PlayStation Vita. You know what that means? Hours of uncharted smack talk with your fellow gamers.
Today's announcement isn't a game-changer, but it does address recent criticism that Sony hasn't launched enough new, exciting games and features since the PS Vita debuted in late February. With Skype, PS Vita is now the first portable player to offer this sort of face-to-face chatting.
"I am always in search for a next big thing," says PC gamer and 12-time world champion Fatal1ty, one of the first to test out the new service. "When I heard Skype was going to be featured on PS Vita, my first thought was this was going to be the device that sets the bar for all new gaming consoles — connecting with family and friends while playing your favorite game."
