Business communications platform Slack had server troubles on Thursday morning, rendering it mostly unusable to users in the U.S.

"We're looking into some problems on our end & working hard to fix them up," Slack wrote on Twitter, responding to a customer query. The company's status page said "We are seeing issues with regards to clients connecting and receiving messages. Investigations are currently underway."

@samwrite We're down! But will be back up soon. Sorry for the troubles! https://t.co/WqzwGMKAyT— Slack (@SlackHQ) April 30, 2015

The issues seem to have begun around 6:20 a.m. ET, and, did not affect users in Europe.

Update: At 7:15 a.m. ET Slack posted that a message saying "the issue has been discovered and resolved. Apologies to all!"

In April, Slack raised a $160 million funding round, bringing its valuation to a monster $2.8 billion. In February, the company experienced a security breach, with some user data being compromised. This prompted Slack to implement two-factor authentication to its service as an additional security measure.
