Game of Thrones is easily the best historical drama on television -- just ask Snoop Dogg. Or, rather, Snoop Dire Wolf.

"I watch it for historic reasons, to try to understand what this world was based on before I got here," Snoop told the New York Post. "I like to know how we got from there, to here, and the similarities between then and now."

It's a good point. As Ned Stark famously said, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." Most people forget that Cleopatra had dragons. What else are we pushing out of our collective memory, sitting idly by as the world crumbles around us?

Thankfully, we have historians like George R.R. Martin and Snoop Dogg to help us digest the past. The rapper loves history so much that he contributed a song called "Lannister's Anthem" to the Game of Thrones mixtape.

When pressed further on the parallels between real life and Game of Thrones, Snoop Dogg revealed a decidedly un-chill worldview: "That kings still rule and a bitch fucked everything up, in every situation!"

Alright then, Snoop.
