The Winter Olympics' penultimate day of medal action in Sochi saw Team USA miss out on the men's hockey bronze medal, while host country Russia enjoyed one of its most successful collective outings of the games.

In addition to hockey, medals were awarded in snowboarding, skiing, biathlon and speed skating. Read on for a full recap of Saturday's medal winners.
