Event planning and marketing tool Spongecell is delving into the advertising market with a new product called Spongecell Rich Media Ads. Seeing as event planning and promotion go hand in hand with advertising, this is a natural next step for Spongecell to make. Spongecell will be adding its "Add to Life" technology to a standard IAB advertisement, which will become part of the tool set that Spongecell clients have access to with their accounts.
A shareable bookmark at that. By providing a way in which to integrate a particular campaign with your regular organization tools as well as a social network where media-sharing and self-broadcasting one's activities is the norm, you're also helping to further the promotional nature of the initial advertisement. This is aligned with the core competencies of Spongecell, which began as a multi-faceted approach to allowing promoters to insert their events wherever consumers are, on a personal and social level.
