Squidoo, the site that pays people to write topic guides, has launched a people search service named SquidWho.
While not the first people search engine to come out, SquidWho wants to list every person on the planet. If you're searching for someone famous, they'll bring up "the single best fanpage" (an arbitrary statement if I've ever read one) about that person. If you search on yourself, and there is no page for you yet, they'll automatically generate one for you to claim and fill out.
Squidoo is saying that it plans to build more apps based on the core service, but no details were disclosed as to what they might be. Perhaps Squidoo will even open up and let others build these applications.
