Sometimes, you really can depend on the kindness of strangers.
A teenager in Raleigh, North Carolina, was only shopping for a clip-on tie at his local Target, but left with much more than he bargained for, thanks to a helpful employee.
That particular Target didn't sell clip-on ties, so the teen -- who needed one for a job interview at Chick-fil-A -- asked for assistance from an employee named Cathy Scott. Scott then asked her coworker, Dennis Roberts, to help the teenager tie a (real) tie. But Roberts didn't stop there; he also imparted words of wisdom.
Audrey Mark was shopping at the same Target in Raleigh when she spotted Roberts giving the teen all kinds of interview tips, like how to deliver a good handshake. She snapped a photo of the inspiring the scene and shared it on Facebook.
While neither Target employee learned the teen's name, they checked in with the Chick-fil-A manager, who told them that the restaurant chain was inviting the teen back for a second interview, according to CNN.
"He's a really nice kid. We hope to talk to him [Friday], but we have to wait until he gets out of school and check his availability to set up the second interview," David Langston, operator of the Chick-fil-A on Triangle Town Boulevard in Raleigh, said.
