Prepare yourself for the most insane DVR ever: the TiVo Mega. How insane is it? Not even #EverySimpsonsEver would bring this thing to its knees.

TiVo announced on Monday a new addition to its DVR line-up, calling it the "largest consumer DVR ever made."

Clocking in at 24TB, which offers capacity for 26,000 hours of SD recording space (and 4,000 hours of HD storage space), the TiVo Mega is a beast. To put that in context, that's nearly six months of high-def content and almost three years of standard recorded content.

The TiVo Mega is made up of 10 hard drives in a RAID-5 array, comes complete with six TV tuners, is multi-room capable, works over Ethernet and MoCA, can stream to tablets and smartphones, and works with the TiVo Mini for multi-room control.

Users can also access apps and third-party streaming services, such as YouTube, Netflix, Hulu Plus and Spotify, all from the same interface.

Beyond that, the TiVo Mega comes in a hardcore rack-mountable server case, and each of the 10 drives are hot-swappable.

Ladies and gentleman, meet my dream TiVo. It takes everything I love about the TiVo Roamio Plus (which a year later, is still the best DVR I've ever owned), and adds in the fun of a RAID-5 array, as well as seemingly endless storage.

The only downside? The TiVo Mega also comes with a very mega price of $5,000. At least that includes lifetime service.

Hey TiVo, consider this an advanced request for a review unit. You know. For science.
