Trakzor, one of the world's most popular MySpace trackers, just released a 2.0 version, with a complete redesign and a bunch of new features (it appears to have gone live today). A MySpace tracker, for those who don't follow this market, is a tool that lets you track all the visits to your MySpace page. The Trakzor system is similar to MyBlogLog communities, allowing you to view detailed information about users who are members of Trakzor, and see less detailed data about non-members. But while 99% of these MySpace trackers are terribly made and horribly designed, Trakzor - the work of a 23 year old developer from Virginia - stands out from the crowd.

In fact, stats programs can be extremely resource intensive, but I think there are some feasible business models here. For instance, some ad networks use a similar "attention-based" technology to log which sites you've visited and serve up relevant ads on partner sites (Tacoda, for instance). So if you visit a baseball forum and then browse over to a classifieds site, you might be shown baseball ads. Unlike Google ads, these don't match the context of the page, but they do match the context of who you are. I'm sure the ad networks would love to track your visits to social networking pages too, serving up ads on subsequent sites based on the location, gender and age of the MySpace users you associate with. I'm deeply concerned about the privacy issues here, but the fact is that these systems are everywhere these days.

Alternatively, Trakzor might offer advanced stat tracking for a fee, just like MyBlogLog. MySpace users are notoriously hard to monetize, but small payments via Paypal could work. In fact, MyBlogLog should seriously consider releasing a MySpace-specific version - the website mapping service Frappr has seen massive growth since releasing a special version for MySpace users, while Imageshack, RockYou and Photobucket continue to ride the MySpace wave.
