In other words, anticipation is a big part (or the primary part) of the fun. This is especially applicable to vacations. As we all know, the thought of a week or two on the beach, often many weeks or months away, is what motivates us in the colder climates to plow through the winter.
Travel brands have catered to this mindset for years via catalogs, which consumers would lovingly peruse during the darker months. But now social media -- and YouTube in particular -- has magnified the travel brand's ability to stimulate vacation lust to the point where there's probably enough material out there to watch 51 weeks of the year without pause.
That said, marketers have learned that just throwing up a video with some shots of a warm locale (or a cold place with good skiing) isn't the best approach. Consumers are a bit more sophisticated than that. Below are five brands that are doing all they can to get their fans psyched for their next vacation. What other travel brands are doing a great job on YouTube? Let us know in the comments.
