Still, this is another example how dangerous Twitter can be, especially as it becomes more and more mainstream. It is a great tool for disseminating information, but it can also be used to spread false information which - such as in this case - can be extremely dangerous.

In the past, we've seen many similar examples of high-profile Twitter accounts being hijacked by hackers, the most famous examples being Britney Spears, Jason Mraz and one of the accounts belonging to the New York Times.
