Twitter continues to have a difficult time hanging onto its execs.

The latest to depart the company is Jeff Sandquist, the global head of developer and platform relations.

Sandquist announced his departure on Twitter but did not give a reason for the move.

Thank you Twitter for an amazing 18 months. The team we've built, the product we've shipped. An absolute honor to have been here.— Jeff Sandquist (@jeffsand) February 24, 2015

The former head of developer relations joined Twitter in 2013 after a 15-year stint at Microsoft, where he held a similar role managing developer relations. It's not clear what his next position will be but Sandquist said he will be returning to Washington.

Hello Seattle! The family and I are returning. San Francisco was an amazing adventure, I can't wait to reconnect with the Seattle tech world— Jeff Sandquist (@jeffsand) February 24, 2015

Sandquist's departure is the latest in a series of executive shakeups at the company, which have hit the engineering team particularly hard of late. Daniel Graf, who was hired as head of product at the micro-blogging service, left the company in December -- after less than six months -- following a reassignment that many saw as a demotion.

The company's VP of engineering and head of analytics both stepped down last fall amid reports that "some engineers at Twitter are concerned that the company's product vision is not clear enough."

The timing of Sandquist's announcement is particularly significant given his role in Twitter Fabric, the new suite of tools for app developers launched last year. Twitter is currently in the midst of a worldwide tour of developer conferences, Twitter Flock, designed to educate developers about these tools.
